(Caracas - December 2016) The first golf tournament of the Oil Chamber of Venezuela (CPV, by its acronym in Spanish), held in the Valle Arriba Golf Club in the city of Caracas, counted with the participation of 40 players from several companies affiliated to the hydrocarbons guild.
The activity began at seven in the morning in games conformed by 4 players. All attendees were excited to be part of this tournament and share with members of the various companies in a friendly environment.
During the tournament, participants could replenish their strength on the lounge areas at holes 15 and 6 with refreshments offered by Castillomax Oil and Gas and Conkor Group, respectively.
Castillomax CEO, Miguel Ángel Castillo Lara, said the activity was a complete success and that “golfers were very committed to the game”. This first tournament is part of CPV's golf circuit for 2017. Castillo Lara added that members' support is key, since CPV favors the growth of the country.
The President of the Oil Chamber of Venezuela, Alexis Medina, said that the tournament surpassed the expectations, since it offered "a friendly space for Venezuelan oil business entrepreneurs to do networking". He added that this type of activity helps members get acquainted and forge successful and efficient alliances.

The most awaited moment
Golfers, representatives of the sponsoring companies, members of CPV and diplomatic personnel residing in the country were all present at the Awards Cocktail. The Tournament Cup was a work of art produced by the renowned Venezuelan artist Daniel Briceño, who could conceptualize the beauty of the game in the piece.
The awards night was full of surprises. In the ladies’ category, the results were as follows: 1st. NET, Danisa Marcano; 1st. Gross, Tamara Saldivia, and 2nd. Gross, Aida Salazar.
In the gentlemen category, the results were: In the 3rd. Category: 2nd. Net-Winner, Flaminio Partidas; 1st. Net-Winner, Miguel Guzman; 2nd. Gross-Winner, Gerardo Garcia; 1st. Gross-Winner, Luigi De Libero. In the 2nd. Category: 2nd. Net-Winner, José Condado; 1st. Net-Winner, José García; 2nd. Gross-Winner, Alfredo Salvo; 1st. Gross-Winner, Cristóbal Salvo. In the 1st. Category: 2nd. Net-Winner, Carlos Pocaterra; 1st. Net-Winner, Ramón Bolívar; 2nd. Gross-Winner, Amaurel Fernández and 1st. Gross-Winner, Edward Colmenares, this last two players represented the company at the event.
The best NET global was obtained by Tatiana Saldivia who obtained the Conkor Group prize.
CPV hopes to repeat the experience in 2017 to generate synergy among members in the country.
